You Are Not For Everyone

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you (John 15:18-19).”

The past six months have been extremely difficult for me. The most difficult situation for me is thinking about growing older and being alone. I recently ended a dysfunctional relationship with someone and and unfortunately, I had to distance myself from dysfunction within my family. I started to think, why are people so rude to me? I have been nothing but kind and when I have offended someone I always go back and apologize. Why do I feel people tend to push me to the curb and pick me up when they need me? Where are people when I need them? Why is it hard for me to get help with my projects but I am expected to help others?

Then God brought a video I had watched a few weeks ago to my remembrance. In that video she said, “you’re not for everybody.” This statement is true across the board. Whether it be a business, a relationship, friendships, blogs, or books. You will not be for everyone but there is an audience, a husband or wife, a friend, a customer, or a team just for you! Everyone is not going to like your personality. It could be something so small that bothers them such as your voice or your hair, but there is someone who admires everything about you. There is always someone wishing that they were just like you.

God never said that everyone would root for you. When you have accepted Christ into your heart, especially when you have been called into ministry, you will notice that people will reject you. People start to feel judged or uncomfortable around you and they will find ways to avoid you. Guess what?! It is okay! Scripture tells us that the world is not going to like us because we represent God. God has people assigned to you that will come in your life to push you into your destiny, cheer you on, and to be loyal and faithful to you. So if you are like me and going through the phase of loneliness in your life and feeling like you have no one to count on or no one that is supporting you…hold on. God will provide! Besides, everything that we are looking for can be found in Him. God is always present and always rooting you on! Stay encouraged!

Faith it until you make it, Hope for the best, and Love God and yourself with every fiber of your being!
