“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NKJV)
As I read my Facebook timeline on last Wednesday morning, I noticed how emotionally driven people were in regards to the presidential election. So many were in an uproar; accusing nonvoters and Trump supporters for allowing what they described as “hate” to run our country. University students began to take over the streets and protest against the decision. Students I work with entered campus with anxiety and sadness in their eyes. It seemed as if all hope was lost, but if you are a true believer of Christ, you and I know that although this may be true, all hope is not lost. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJV)
Please understand that in times of turmoil, God is still in control and you still have a purpose to fulfill. God always has a plan. What may seem like the end of the world, may actually be a very small piece to a big puzzle. What part do you play in the puzzle? Are you the border or the missing pieces in the middle? We are all birthed with a purpose and your purpose must be fulfilled.
In Genesis 25 God told Rebekah that she would give birth to two nations and the older would serve the younger. Esau was born first and Jacob second. Isaac loved Esau and attempted to bless him as he was dying, but Rebekah loved Jacob and overheard what Isaac planned to do for Esau and she came up with a plan for Jacob to deceive his father and be blessed. Not only was Jacob blessed by his father, but he had also taken Esau’s birthright. This is what I gather from this story looking from Jacob’s perspective; no matter what it may look like or how someone may appear to be taking from you and giving to someone else; if God birthed you with a purpose it must and will be fulfilled. There is no need to deceive people or lie to get what God has already promised you.
If he told you that you will be the voice of the nation, you can guarantee that you will be that voice. If he told you that your purpose is to care for the sick, be an engineer, a doctor, a musician but right now you are unemployed or things are not working out, stop moping around and work towards that purpose. Everyone has a different purpose in life. Sometimes you may not even believe that you are who God says you are. Believe it! You are someone great. You are important in this life. No man or woman, no matter their position can keep you from being who God has created you to be.
You have a purpose to fulfill and God has equipped you with the tools to succeed. The puzzle is not complete without you. Could it be possible that you are living during these times because of the purpose within you? You were created for such a time as this! Do not get distracted with the things that are taking place in this world. Do not let the enemy deceive you or turn you into a someone you are not. Keep focusing on God, for he has called you forth for such a time as this. What is your purpose?
Faith it until you make, Hope for the best and Love God and yourself with every fiber of your being!
